Babies don’t stay babies for long, so capture these moments whilst you can.
If you decide to wait until after the newborn phase, I would suggest scheduling a shoot when your baby is able to support their own head - normally between 3-4 months old, although every baby is different. This allows for more options when taking photographs and your baby will also be at a stage where he or she is interacting more with the people around them.
By about 6 months, once your baby is sitting up, the chance for documenting these baby milestones increases. As they get older interacting with toys, crawling, waving and eventually standing and walking all allow for some fantastic photographs to be taken.
Many parents book 4 shoots in the first year, capturing their baby as a newborn, at 4 months, 8 months and just before their first birthday. Please contact me for details of the First Year Package.
